Expressive Arts Therapy
Expressive Arts Therapy is an integrative approach to enhance one’s overall well-being. It provides a safe and non-judgmental environment to help discover their true self. In Expressive Arts Therapy sessions, people explore one’s feelings and issues through play, art-making and ritual. By engaging in the creative process of art making, people become more flexible to explore the conflicts and struggles of their own.
Expressive Arts Therapy works with all arts disciplines-- visual arts, music, dance, theatre and writing. It is used with all ages, as individuals or in groups, to facilitate change.
“The Expressive Arts combine the visual arts, dance/movement, drama/theatre, music, writing/poetry and other creative processes to foster deep personal growth and community development. By integrating the arts processes and allowing one to flow into another, we gain access to our inner resources for healing, clarity, illumination and creativity.”
